To whom it may concern,
I am a veteran ships first officer with over 10 years working experience on passenger cruise ships, merchant vessels, and tug boats. Throughout my extensive career I have been the navigation officer in command of planning future cruises in specific ports of call, including Alaska, the Eastern and Western coasts of the United States of America, the Mediterranean Sea, the Adriatic, the Caribbean Sea, northern Europe including the English Channel, as well navigating through the Panama Canal in a vessel over 100,000GT. 
As a 1st deck officer, I am responsible for the general command of the bridge, overseeing several subordinate cadets and members of the deck department, while assisting the captain with maneuvering the ship when arriving and departing from port. As the 1st officer I was in charge of training new staff in safety instruction including lifeboats, safety equipment and fire fighting training.  I was also responsible for training the bridge staff for the incoming season in regards to tides, currents, and general bridge operations. Notably I conducted several fast boat rescue missions under extreme conditions having no communication with the vessel, powerful swells and uncertainty in the approach. I have been an officer on some of the most sophisticated and new cruise ships, affording me the opportunity to work with ECDIS an IBS, but I am also adept in diesel engines, and traditional navigational equipment.
I have extensive practical knowledge of navigation and general bridge command. I have experience in innumerable professional situations using my mental acuity, intelligence, quick thinking, leadership, dedication and, trust. I have an impeccable safety and command record and sheer dedication and passion for what I do. I look forward to a career where I may foster and develop my expertise.
