I am writing to you today with the view to gaining a permanent position as ETO | Sole Engineer | AV/IT Officer within the super yacht or cruise line industry.
I spent 22 years in the Navy as an electrical specialist can bring a wealth of knowledge and experience gleaned from my time served. I dealt with all types of machinery and systems needed on submarines and surface vessels. I completed nine auxiliary machinery certificates which gave me a good mechanical background as the machinery was fridge and chiller plants, diesel engines, freshwater makers and hydraulic systems along with other systems on ships and submarines. I hold the AEC qualification as well as numerous others from the UK Royal Navy
I have also worked on ships getting built and in refit at the Portsmouth naval base BAE site and spent 3 years in the Falklands working with standby and main power diesel generators were I frequently helped to service both the Diesel engine as well as the alternators and was a very proactive member of the team.
I have a good knowledge of AV/IT equipment as part of my SETO responsibilities and can learn at a fast pace to anything I am not familiar with. I have run periodic, planned as well as reactive maintenance schedules. I possess sound knowledge of converted supplies that power UPS and DC supplied machinery.
I pride myself on being able to manage and maintain relationships and being able to communicate effectively with people on all levels. I work well under pressure, either as part of a team or on my own and can adapt myself to other roles quickly. In addition, I am extremely organised, great at problem solving, safety conscious and a good team leader, being extremely motivated myself; I enjoy keeping the team motivated around me.
