I am an Australian stewardess currently based in Antibes, France. I've just completed a busy med season upon a private 55m boat I am excited for my next challenge in the industry.
While this was my first season on a yacht I have a strong background in hospitality having worked at one of Sydney's most well known restaurants (also a bar and guesthouse) for over 5 years where I worked in fine dining. I worked throughout a number of roles, a la carte waitressing, hosting, functions service, barista and bartending.
I spent 3 months on MY Step One where I worked mainly in housekeeping and laundry, and occasionally in service. I had Lawrence on board my yacht for over a month. Lawrence it’s a great guy, really hard working, he knows what to do at the right moment.
He does know a lot about sailing and you can get how much sailing and sea it’s a true passion for him. His duties on board were managing the tender, bringing guest around when they needed to, helping anchoring manoeuvring and general management of the yacht. He did manage everything pretty well.
He also has great social skills, he went along pretty well with the guests we had. I’ve got really positive feedback from the guests from this point of view.
We had a really intense period together including a Greece to Croatia transfer and a night sailing from Corfu till Dubrovnik. I recommend him for any Skipper who wishes to employ him as deckhand/co-skipper; he does have to learn still a lot more he is just at the beginning but this is the right way to start.

I am an Australian stewardess currently based in Antibes, France. I’ve just completed a busy med season upon a private 55m boat I am excited for my next challenge in the industry.
While this was my first season on a yacht I have a strong background in hospitality having worked at one of Sydney’s most well known restaurants (also a bar and guesthouse) for over 5 years where I worked in fine dining. I worked throughout a number of roles, a la carte waitressing, hosting, functions service, barista and bartending.
I spent 3 months on MY Step One where I worked mainly in housekeeping and laundry, and occasionally in service. In addition to this I spent 3 months day working on board large yachts (including MY Hermitage, MY Nirvana and MY Global (ex-Kismet)) and so have experienced many different dynamics and built up many different skills from organising a boat coming out of a refit, detailing a yacht head to toe and inventory work, to service, housekeeping and laundry to the highest standard.
I have also studied public relations and organisational communications so I have great organisational, communication and management skills which I feel transfer well into the world of yachting.

With 8 of us on board (to full capacity), Lawrence was a joy to have with us and became an integral part of our fantastic holiday.
He was truly professional at all times, going out of his way on many occasions to ensure the safety of our boat (in particularly stormy and unexpected weather), while also becoming part of our group as a friend. He’s very knowledgeable in all areas of sailing and this became particularly evident when some of our group were keen to learn the basics of skippering – his passion for the job and the sea were quite obvious to all of us.

I had Lawrence on board my yacht for over a month. Lawrence it’s a great guy, really hard working, he knows what to do at the right moment.
He does know a lot about sailing and you can get how much sailing and sea it’s a true passion for him. His duties on board were managing the tender, bringing guest around when they needed to, helping anchoring manoeuvring and general management of the yacht. He did manage everything pretty well.
He also has great social skills, he went along pretty well with the guests we had. I’ve got really positive feedback from the guests from this point of view.
We had a really intense period together including a Greece to Croatia transfer and a night sailing from Corfu till Dubrovnik. I recommend him for any Skipper who wishes to employ him as deckhand/co-skipper; he does have to learn still a lot more he is just at the beginning but this is the right way to start.

I am a veteran ships first officer with over 10 years working experience on passenger cruise ships, merchant vessels, and tug boats. Throughout my extensive career I have been the navigation officer in command of planning future cruises in specific ports of call, including Alaska, the Eastern and Western coasts of the United States of America, the Mediterranean Sea, the Adriatic, the Caribbean Sea, northern Europe including the English Channel, as well navigating through the Panama Canal in a vessel over 100,000GT.
As a 1st deck officer, I am responsible for the general command of the bridge, overseeing several subordinate cadets and members of the deck department, while assisting the captain with maneuvering the ship when arriving and departing from port. As the 1st officer I was in charge of training new staff in safety instruction including lifeboats, safety equipment and fire fighting training. I was also responsible for training the bridge staff for the incoming season in regards to tides, currents, and general bridge operations. Notably I conducted several fast boat rescue missions under extreme conditions having no communication with the vessel, powerful swells and uncertainty in the approach. I have been an officer on some of the most sophisticated and new cruise ships, affording me the opportunity to work with ECDIS an IBS, but I am also adept in diesel engines, and traditional navigational equipment.
I have extensive practical knowledge of navigation and general bridge command. I’m culinary trained with ten years of restaurant experience, three of those years cooking on charter catamarans and motor boats based out of the Santa Barbara Harbor. I’m also STCW certified. My meals are heavily influenced and inspired by Japanese, Italian, and Mexican Cuisines. I can easily accommodate vegan/ vegetarian/ raw/ and gluten free cuisines, and combine elements of these into meals regardless of needs to promote healthy digestion and provide extremely balanced meals.
