A temporary Captain required for a 30m Motor Yacht (203 GT)

Mediterranean | August – November 2026
Potential extension until January 2027

We are seeking an experienced Captain to take temporary command of a well-maintained 203 GT private motor yacht operating primarily in the Mediterranean.

This is a temporary position to cover the current Captain’s leave. The contract is initially from early/mid August through November 2026, with the possibility of extending until January 2027 by mutual agreement.

The yacht is professionally managed by SeaNet and has an active but enjoyable owner programme with four private owners. The successful candidate will take responsibility for the safe operation of the vessel while leading a professional crew and maintaining the high standards expected on board.

Responsibilities

* Safe navigation and operation of the vessel
* Passage planning and voyage management
* Crew leadership, management and development
* Maintenance planning and oversight
* Budget management and purchasing
* Contractor and shipyard coordination
* Compliance with Flag State, Class and regulatory requirements
* Delivering an exceptional owner and guest experience

Requirements

* Appropriate Master certification for vessel tonnage
* Previous Captain experience on a similar-sized yacht preferred
* Strong maintenance and technical knowledge
* Excellent communication and organisational skills
* Professional appearance and demeanour
* Hands-on leadership style with a willingness to work alongside the crew

Desirable

* Mediterranean cruising experience
* Experience managing owner-operated programmes
* Shipyard and project management experience
* Strong engineering and troubleshooting ability

Package

* Salary: USD $10,000–11,000 per month (DOE)
* Contractor-style SEA
* 30 days annual leave (pro rata for the duration of the contract)
* Typical owner gratuities of approximately USD $2,000 per owner trip
* Start date: Early / Mid August 2026
* Initial contract through November 2026, with the possibility of extending until January 2027
